Mississippi Economic Council (MEC)
The MEC serves as Mississippi’s primary chamber of commerce. Military contractor Ingalls Shipbuilding is one of its “pinnacle members,” along with Chevron. Other “major supporters” include Airbus, Caterpillar, Northrop Grumman, and RTX (Raytheon), and the Chair’s Council includes representatives from Aerojet Rocketdyne, Baker Donelson, Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding, and Lockheed Martin. Former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour has also worked as a lobbyist for the MEC.
